Bustin' Food Myths and More

Ever wondered if the five-second rule for dropping your food was true? I have. And I'm dang curious to know details. Right after the finale of The Next Food Network Star, I discovered this gem. A new series on the Food Network called Food Detectives with Ted Allen. Basically Tim Breaks down food myths, pop culture, cultures and mysteries of food we eat.

Other topics from the first episode were how to remedy yourself (your mouth) after eating really hot (spicy) food, does eating celery really burn calories and does baking soda really eliminate odor.

It's way cool and worth your watch. Give it a try and let me know what you think! It airs again July 31 at 8:30 e/p.

I saw the spicy food episode...I think it's a great show, though some of their questions did seem a bit obvious to me. The part I liked best was how to keep your fridge from smelling! Baking soda's great, but activated carbon's even better...I'm gonna have to get some of that! (It's often used in fish tanks.)

that sounds so awesome! There's things on there I'd love to know...
by the way, the host's name is Ted, not Tim.

Thanks for catching that. It's so funny because the whole time I was writing it I kept thinking "don't write Tim Allen like on Home Improvement."

Well...it looks like I did. It's corrected now.
